Meet the October Fine Arts Student of the Month!
Peter Harrison, 12th Grade
What Fine Arts classes/activities have you been a part of so far?
Concert Choir, WSMA, Marching Band, Chapel/choir accompanying
Fine Arts Outside of MLHS: Church accompanying and singing
Non-Fine Arts Activities: Basketball, baseball, E-sports
Favorite Musician: Calvin Allen
Highlight of Being in Fine Arts: Getting a starred first and performing at state in a quartet
Reason for Nomination:
Peter has consistently shown a love for making music to his Lord. He has been one of the first students in quite some time to grab hold of accompanying for chapel and now he is working hard on accompanying the Concert Choir on a Christmas anthem. Having a student accompanist on a regular basis has not happened in some time! He has also worked very hard in Concert Choir as a solid member of our tenor section. He is a very consistent senior leader in this section and always sings with such joy!
Thank you, Peter, for sharing your love of music with others and letting Christ’s love shine through in all you do!

Tips for Supporting the Arts at Home—Tip 1
Embrace music learning at home! Begin by fostering a home environment that embraces music learning. Make it a point to incorporate musical elements into your daily routine. Whether it’s playing tunes during meals/car rides or introducing musical games, creating a musical backdrop in your home sets the stage for a rich music learning experience.
Parades—Thank you!
Thank you to all who assisted with the two Christmas parades. Both nights were quite cold, but our school was well represented!
