A Message From the Principal

This is a friendly reminder that this Thursday, October 10th, is an important night with a lot going on.

Parent/Teacher Consultations: 6:00pm – 8:00pm – This is an open house type set up. If there is a teacher you would like to touch base with, you will find them in their classrooms.  You do not need to sign up ahead of time to meet with them. Simply head to their classroom to visit. If the door is closed or there is another family meeting with them, kindly wait outside the room for your turn.  This night is a great opportunity to meet with your student(s)’ teachers and learn more about what is going on in class as well as touch base about grades if you have questions. If you are not able to make it, feel free to reach out to your child(s) teacher at any time. If you do not know a certain teacher’s email address, simply head to the school website and look for the Faculty & Staff page under the About tab.  You can also use this link, Faculty & Staff | Manitowoc Lutheran (mlhslancers.org) and click on the teachers name.

Board of Control: 6:00pm-8:00pm – The MLHS BOC will also be available in the "senior center". Please stop in and speak to them if you have a school wide question or concern, or just would like to say HI.

Career & College Information: 6:00pm – 8:00pm – During the open house, you can also find time to visit with College representatives and ask questions and get information.  This is a great opportunity for Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors to think about what they want to do after high school.  Colleges in attendance are UWGB, Bethany, WLC, MLC, LTC, and the Reserves.

Academic Awards Presentation: 8:00pm-8:45pm – During the 2023-2024 school year we were blessed with an outstanding group of students who became eligible for academic recognition. These students achieved honor roll status with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher for both semesters.  The Academic Awards night is meant to recognize these wonderful accomplishments.  You should have/or will be receiving an email from Mr. Hulse if your student will be recognized.

Employability Grades – You will be seeing Employability grades entered soon for your child(ren).  These are non-GPA influenced grades on five topics. The overall grade is either a 1, 1+, 2, 2+, or 3. A 1 means they need improvement, 2 means they are on track and a 3 means they exceed expectations.  Please reach out to your child’s advisor if you have questions on your child(s) grade.

Construction Update

Last week the interior progress was substantial. Lockers were installed in the locker rooms which will serve our gameday competitors. Also in the locker rooms, the bathroom stalls were put into place. In the long main hallway the tile work began and progresses this week. The board signed by students, teachers and staff has been put in place permanently, and the preliminary layers of the flooring are done. Outside there were sidewalks poured and the parking area by the main gym was graded.

We are truly blessed to see this taking shape, it has not come without setbacks. One of those being the timing of our dedication service. Based on uncontrollable circumstances our Main Gym dedication service will take place on Sunday, January 12 at 2:00PM. This exciting event will be open to the public and expect many visitors. More info to come!

MLHS EARNS WSMA ACCREDITATION ONCE AGAIN!

Manitowoc Lutheran High School was awarded WSMA accreditation based on last year’s participation at WSMA solo/ensemble and the Concert Choir, Lancer Singers & Symphonic Band being adjudicated and competing at the World Strides Festival of Music in Nashville, TN. Our music department has received this accreditation every available year since 2018.

WSMA states that only 174 high schools across the state received WSMA accreditation this school year.  There are 837 high schools in the state of Wisconsin.  Our goal is to meet the criteria and receive this accreditation each year at MLHS.

What a blessing and honor for our school to once again earn this accreditation. We are proud of this and we are even more proud that our students are using their God given gifts to praise and honor him. To God alone go the glory!
